After many year of record keeping I have made a list of everything that goes into raising a litter. I thought this would be educational for those who wish to know what goes into raising a litter of puppies.
Here is a break down of what goes into my litter, nursing mother, breeding her, and costs:
Many times you have a C-section, Pomeranians are small dogs and it can happen often this can be $1,000 or in the middle of the night and there is an emergency vet open it can go up to $1,500+ if complications happen during the c-section it can go up. (Thankfully I have been very lucky and have only had one female need a cesarean; she was spayed right away)
Average cost of raising one litter $4,000 - $6,000 average litter size 1-3 average cost of Pom puppy $1,300 - $2,500.
This is NOT including should the Dam need an emergency C-Section of $1,500. And sometimes pups do not make it (thankfully I've never lost a puppy).
This is a rough guess of costs sometimes puppies fade and need medical attention and this can be expensive.
My 2016 litter cost $7,000 from breeding till the last puppy went home.
